NanoFiction?

NanoFiction is an umbrella term encompassing extremely brief fictional narratives that tell a complete story or paint a vivid scene using a minimal number of words or sentences. The four major types of NanoFiction are:

• Six-word stories: Complete narratives or vivid descriptions conveyed in exactly six carefully chosen words.
• Two-sentence stories: Entire story arcs or powerful vignettes expressed in only two well-crafted sentences.
• Limericks: Humorous, often bawdy, five-line poems with a strict AABBA rhyme scheme and anapestic meter.
• Haiku: Traditional Japanese poems capturing a fleeting moment or profound insight in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, respectively.

These ultra-concise literary forms challenge writers to evoke rich imagery, emotions, and ideas through a combination of carefully selected words, poetic techniques, and the power of implication.
