Piece Spotlight: Cosmic Enigma

In the cosmos, strange spheres do glow,
Yog-Sothoth's secrets they show.
With knowledge so vast,
From the present and past,
Time's fabric begins to slow.

A limerick has a bounce to it. That AABBA rhythm is built for jokes, for a punchline landing on the last line. Handing that structure to Yog-Sothoth, a being defined by knowing everything at once, past and future collapsed into a single awareness, creates a strange friction. The form wants to skip along. The subject wants to stop time.

That tension is the reason this piece exists. Most Lovecraftian entities get haiku or quiet prose, something that mirrors the dread. Yog-Sothoth is different. Lovecraft wrote it as the gate and the key, a being for whom all of existence is already visible, no mystery left to unfold. A limerick's forward motion, that little rhyme-driven momentum, becomes ironic against a creature for whom time barely moves at all.

The art follows the same logic. Instead of a monster with a face, it's glowing spheres and celestial patterns, an entity that looks more like a diagram than a body. Nothing lunges at you. It just hangs there, vast and already finished, the way the limerick's rhythm keeps moving even as the words describe something that has stopped.
